As his centennial approaches (July 7, 2007), Robert A. Heinlein’s status might read “equivocal and rising.” Some regard him as only a genre or a children’s writer. Those who know Heinlein’s books reject this condescending dismissal of his work and regard him as a major Twentieth century American writer.
